ORIGIN:

India

For this furniture, we use acacia wood of the finest quality which is grown on plantations under governmental control. Acacia wood is extremely hard and resistant, as well as weatherproof, which also makes it ideal for other applications such as boat building. Due to its characteristics, acacia wood can be easily processed. In the past, it was used only rarely for furniture construction, but is suited very well for straightline designs.

By the time they are cut down, the trees are approximately 30 years old and about ten meters high. Afterwards, they are processed as planks, which remain in drying chambers for a few days until most of the humidity has escaped. The tannic acid in the wood ensures the good quality of the wood and is responsible for its fresh red brown shade. Pieces of solid wood furniture are a piece of nature. They ensure an ideal living environment.

New furniture made of acacia wood can show striped to spotted structures. Acacia wood is a material which is subjected to constant changes due to its naturalness. Cracks in the wood can appear, but do not impair the statics and durability of your furniture. The cracks especially occur during long periods of heat and dryness and will close again in normal humidity.

Pieces of solid wood furniture can darken due to solar radiation. Therefore, please ensure even incidence of light and do not place any objects on your furniture for long periods during the first few weeks. This could lead to an irregular color picture.

Pieces of solid wood furniture must be kept in the living space. In the case of improper storage or placement in humid or cold surroundings, damage can occur to the furniture.

Please note that wood can undergo changes due to fluctuating temperatures, humidity and other influences. Despite careful selection and processing of the wood, the side panels and plates can warp slightly, and cracks may even appear. This is not a case of complaint, as you can prevent shrinkage and swelling of the wood with a humidity of 50 - 60 percent and a constant room temperature of 68°F. The furniture should never be placed too close to a direct source of heat.

Attention:

Due to the natural red coloring of the acacia wood, the furniture may turn slightly redder over time. This is due to the nature of the wood and does not constitute grounds for complaint.

Handles:

In some products, bigger handles may be found inside the piece of furniture or in the interior of drawers, or mounted to doors. This serves for transport safety. The handles can easily be remounted with a screwdriver.

Our pieces of furniture comply with the European directives REACH and EUTR.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

Never use strong household cleaners, abrasive cleaners or wet cloths for cleaning your furniture.

COLORS CLAY, SAND, SNOW, STONE and TOBACCO:

Furniture in these colors do not need any additional treatment such as oils or waxes. Please remember that the surface is not sealed completely in order to preserve the natural optics and haptics of the wood. You should therefore be especially vigilant in immediately wiping away fluids and greases. In the case of SAND and SNOW your piece of furniture has received special handicraft treatment with a steel brush, which gives it an unmistakably rustic structure. The TABAK surface was provided with its special haptics by means of sand blasting.

COLORS HONEY, OILED and WHITE:

These colors have a very shiny wooden surface. If you notice that it is becoming increasingly matte, you can retreat your furniture with customary furniture care products such as polishes.

WE WISH YOU LONG-LASTING JOY WITH YOUR NEW PIECE OF FURNITURE!
